Nigella

Nigella is the spice derived from the dry-roasted seeds of Nigella sativa, an annual flowering herb in the buttercup family (Ranunculaceae). It is often mistakenly referred to as “black cumin” even though true black cumin is botanically unrelated (Elwendia persica).
