Nigella

Nigella is the spice derived from the whole or ground dry-roasted seeds of the Nigella sativa, an annual flowering plant of the buttercup family (Ranunculaceae). It is often mistakenly referred to as “black cumin” even though true black cumin is botanically unrelated (Elwendia persica).
