Tuber

Similar to rhizomes and bulbs in function, tubers are knobby underground storage organs packed with nutrients, formed from modified stems. They differ in that tubers typically don’t play a role in vegetative reproduction, while rhizomes and bulbs do. The most famous tubers are potatoes, yams, and cassava.
