Herbaceous

Herbaceous plants have soft, green, non-woody stems. This is in contrast to woody plants that have sturdy stems for strength and longevity. Trees, shrubs, and vines typically fall under the woody category, while most herbs, vegetables, grasses, and flowers are herbaceous.

The term “herbaceous” also applies to a type of aroma characterized by fresh, green, and earthy notes that evoke the smell of freshly cut grass, leaves, and herbs. It is often described as clean, crisp, refreshing, and invigorating.
