Evergreen

Evergreen plants retain their leaves year-round. While some may drop off throughout the year, they always maintain some green foliage. Evergreens can be either broadleaf, with flat, wide leaves (holly, wasabi), or coniferous, with needle-like or scale-life leaves (pine trees, cedars). This is in contrast to deciduous plants, which shed their leaves seasonally – usually during autumn or in preparation for a dry season.
