Crucifer

Crucifers are a group of flowering plants belonging to the Brassicaceae family, also known as the mustard or cabbage family. They are characterized by their four-petaled flowers arranged in a cross-like shape (hence the name “crucifer,” meaning cross-bearing). This group gives us the famously nutritious cruciferous vegetables: kale, watercress, broccoli, bok choy, arugula, cauliflower, cabbage, radishes, and Brussels sprouts. It also gives us the spices mustard, wasabi, and horseradish.
